These are small, quiet things to make with your hands. With Tsuruko, a koushi (master incense blender), you learn about the ingredients, blend about fifteen natural aromatics into your own incense, and take it home wrapped in Japanese style. In the temari session, you wrap thread around a base, mark the pattern and stitch until star-like shapes appear on a ball that fits in your palm; no special skill is needed. And in Shingu, at Kominka Mikan, a café in a house built 120 years ago, you share a home-cooked set meal with your host and then turn "arigatou" into a piece of brush pen art. The incense venue is arranged after booking, and the temari venue (planned to be a temple) is shared once it is decided.
