Spring on Munakata Oshima Island is defined by amanatsu citrus. Beneath bright blue skies, pick the golden fruits one by one from a farmer's field. Then head to the Community Center kitchen, where under the guidance of a local instructor, you'll make "amanatsu sauce" from the fruit you picked yourself. The result: a golden bottle of sauce with your own custom label. Lunch is at a local café on the island—a fish sandwich set made with local catch. And a special amanatsu splash made by mixing your homemade sauce with sparkling water, available only that day. Eat, create, meet people, laugh. If you wish, you can add English interpretation by NOREN's Miki Matsushima as an optional service (Japanese ⇄ English only). Your souvenirs: a bottle of your own labeled sauce and the memory of island locals' smiles.
