Day Trips from Fukuoka
Fukuoka is a good base for a day out. Itoshima is about 40 minutes by car from Hakata: you take off from the hillside with an instructor and land on the beach. Dazaifu is about 30 minutes by Nishitetsu train: a photographer walks the town with you in kimono. In Shingu, a 120-year-old house is now a café, where you share a set meal and write "arigatou" with a brush pen. Paragliding depends on the weather and wind.
