A street photographer capturing Fukuoka's quiet light

I met Toshiya through a friend. In the photo book he had open in front of him, a side of Fukuoka I had walked past without noticing was quietly captured. These weren't photos that simply recorded a place. They seemed to capture the very breath of the place, and drew out each person's natural expression.
He is usually very easygoing, but when the talk turns to photography he becomes serious, and you can feel how much he loves it. Walking with guests through backstreets away from the tourist spots, he shares something beyond taking photos: time to fall in love with the place.
