Why I do this work: I trained as a Western-style massage therapist in Canada, then came home to Fukuoka and opened Kintsugi Spa. Every day at the spa, I talk with travelers from around the world. "Where should I eat tonight?" "I can't read the menu." "I'm alone — is it weird to walk into an izakaya?" I heard these questions over and over.
